Crowds cheer as Telford Plaza’s Christmas lights switched on
Hundreds of people cheered when a spectacular Christmas lights display attached to Telford’s tallest and largest office towers were switched on last week.
A dazzling display of white festive lights in the shapes of Christmas trees and hot air balloons were switched at Telford Plaza by local MP Lucy Allan on Friday 30 November.
A brass band played festive tunes throughout the event, while VIP guests enjoyed a cocktail reception.
Telford Plaza is one of Telford’s top commercial properties and is now at full capacity following a number of deals sealed by commercial property consultancy Bulleys Bradbury.
Richard Bradbury, director of Telford-based Bulleys Bradbury, said: “The array of bright Christmas lights help to focus on the scale and sleek shapes of the Telford Plaza buildings, and it was an impressive treat for workers in the building and nearby residents.”
Some 2,000 workers are based at One and Two Telford Plaza, including hundreds in the HMRC offices across 13 floors after a major relocation earlier this year, in a deal sealed by Bulleys Bradbury.
Another major tenant is Cabot Credit Management, trading as dlc, and Orbit Debt Collection Ltd, which are based on the first and second floors at One Telford Plaza after relocations also arranged by Bulleys Bradbury.
Ciddy Patel, a director of Telford Plaza UK Limited, which owns the buildings, said: “This was an unmissable event for the whole town.
“We were thrilled that Lucy Allan helped us to celebrate Christmas, and we are so pleased that our buildings are at full capacity.
“We hope that everyone enjoyed the great display of lights and music.”
